The 2024 Slavic Orthodox Vicariate Calendar is Now Available

January 18, 2024

The 2024 Slavic Orthodox Vicariate Calendar became available in the first week of January.

As the Vicariate is part of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America under the Patriarchate of Constantinople, its mission is to unite Orthodox Christians of the Slavic tradition. The calendar reflects this unique aspect of the Vicariate by commemorating both the well-known Christian Saints from the first century until the present, as well as those of Ancient Rus’, but also the Saints that are reverently venerated in other Slavic countries. The calendar marks the major church holidays as well as multi and single day fasts or fast-free weeks throughout the year. It  is illustrated with photographs of events in the parishes of the Vicariate during the past year. One can find photos of visits by Archbishop Elpidophoros as well as those of Bishop Athenagoras, and Bishop Isaiah of Šumperk (Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia). Major events such as ordinations of new clergy as well as photos depicting spiritual life in the parishes are also presented.  There are also photos of the trip taken by Bishop-Elect Alexander to Moldova to visit Metropolitan Peter of Bessarabia of the Romanian Orthodox Church. Valuable information about the Vicariate is also included, as well as photographs its 20 clergymen. The calendar is presented in both English and Russian.

The Calendar of the Slavic Vicariate is published for the fourth consecutive year.  It is designed and developed by Ivan Belya. The calendar can be purchased from the Slavic Orthodox Vicariate Office: 113 S. Federal Hwy, Dania Beach, FL 33004.
