Prayers for Ukrainians Killed in the War at the Miami Cathedral

On February 24, 2022, a full-scale military invasion by the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine began. 

Two years after the start of the war, parishioners of the Cathedral of St. Matrona in Miami gathered for a memorial prayer service to honor the memory of both Ukraine’s fallen civilians and its defenders.  At the request of the Ukrainian parishioners, the service was led by the Cathedral’s Rector, Archimandrite Alexander.  Financial and humanitarian aid has been continuously collected in all the parishes of the Slavic Orthodox Vicariate since the start of the conflict and sent to those adversely affected by the war.
