The Orthodox Calendar of the Slavic Vicariate for 2026 has Been Released

At the beginning of the new year, the 2026 calendar of the Slavic Orthodox Vicariate of America was published.

The Slavic Vicariate is part of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, which unites parishes of the Slavic tradition. Therefore, the calendar includes the commemoration not only of universally venerated Christian saints from the first centuries of Christianity and the saints of Rus’, but also of those saints especially revered in Slavic countries and in America. It also lists the major feasts of the church year, days of commemoration of the departed, as well as the multi-day and single-day fasts.

The calendar is illustrated with photographs of events from the life of the Vicariate that took place in 2025. The most significant event for Orthodoxy in America was the Apostolic Visit of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. A pilgrimage to Constantinople took place, along with a meeting with His All-Holiness by a group of American pilgrims led by the head of the Greek Archdiocese, Archbishop Elpidophoros; the pilgrimage group included the Vicar and clergy of the Vicariate. A separate section features photographs of visits to the parishes of the Vicariate by Archbishop Elpidophoros (in particular, His Eminence consecrated a new church in Hot Springs, Arkansas), as well as by another hierarch of the Archdiocese — Bishop Athenagoras of Nazianzos. The calendar also includes images that illustrate the life of the parishes.

Photographs from parish life are included along with their contact information, as well as photos of the clergy. All information in the publication is presented in English and Russian.

The Orthodox Calendar of the Slavic Vicariate has now been published for the sixth year. The author of the project and design is Ivan Belya.
